Art Classes

We run a program of art classes and courses for adults, in a wide range of subjects, in venues across Liverpool. dot-art art class venues include Liverpool’s landmark arts centre the Bluecoat, the iconic Sefton Park Palm House in leafy south Liverpool, Hope Street Ltd, based in the city’s main shopping area of Lord Street, and the dot-art Gallery. All our sessions are delivered by experienced local tutors and teachers.

Evening courses run for 10 weeks and start in Autumn, Winter and Spring, so keep checking back for new listings. If you would like further information, or to suggest a subject for future class, please get in touch.

Life Drawing (10 Week Course)

Tuesdays from 7th February 2017, 6:45-9pm

Roy Munday leads a 10 week programme of evening lessons developing your skills in life drawing, including accurate measuring, colour and drawing techniques. Suitable for both newcomers / beginners and those continuing from previous courses, as the tutor will tailor the material to individual participants.

Explore and investigate a broad range of traditional and contemporary painting processes and practices, focusing on the use of acrylics, with reknowned artist and experienced teacher Richard Meaghan. Suitable for beginners.

Jewellery Making in Metal (10 Week Course)

February – April 2017

Learn the basic techniques of jewellery making and make a piece of jewellery each week! Includes how to use a jeweller’s piercing saw, drilling, filing and polishing metal correctly and how to create colour, texture and patinas on metal.

Introduction to Portrait Drawing

Sunday 26th February, 11am – 5pm

Learn the fundamentals of drawing characterful portraits. Starting from the basics, you will be provided with exercises and tuition to help you improve your portrait drawing or help get you started.

Beginners Digital Photography

Sunday 26th March 2017, 11am-5pm

Led by BIPP Photographer of the Year 2016, Bryn Davies, develop your photography skills in this introductory one day course. You’ll cover the basics of digital cameras and an overview of Exposure and Composition with a practical workshop of People and Place.
