dot-art works with almost one hundred artist members. You could be one of them…
Over the past 13 years dot-art has been working with some of Liverpool and North West region’s talented artists. From painters to sculptors, photographers to digital artists, we’ve supported a broad range of creators, both emerging and established, with exhibitions, sales and other unique opportunities from our city centre gallery. As well as 1-2-1 advice, online promotion and regular showcases, we generate lots of exciting and diverse projects for our members to engage with – just see our round up of 2018!
Many of our artists benefit from our connections with local businesses and corporate clients. Liverpool artist John Petch, known for creating the bold, geometric album artwork for chart-topping Wirral band OMD, has had 17 of his large scale art works rented to a variety of corporate clients, selling 11 pieces to two clients to keep as permanent fixtures in their workplace.
As well as this, in 2018 John had his own solo show ‘Metamorphosis: John Petch x OMD‘, which responded to Lightnight’s theme of Transformation, with his OMD album and single art making it one of our most successful exhibitions in 2018. The collaboration with OMD culminated in a fantastic public art commission over in Wirral. John was approached by a Wirral OMD fanbase to design and create a unique artwork to adorn the much-loved telephone box associated with OMD single ‘Red Frame/White Light’ ahead of the band’s 40th anniversary.
dot-art also works in a large number of schools across the region. Our member artists run workshops in a wide range of subjects, bringing creativity into schools. As well as adult courses, Faith has run workshops and been involved in collaborative art projects in schools over several years including three new schools this past year, one of which created a large-scale sculpture with Faith.
You may recognise Ali Barker’s synaesthesia-inspired Liverpool and Wirral Compositions. As one of our most popular selling artists at Liverpool Art Fair 2018, Ali’s artwork may well appear in many homes around Liverpool and beyond!
Currently studying for her fine-art Master’s degree here in Liverpool, Ali has also taken part in numerous group exhibitions at dot-art Gallery. Her art was so well liked by one of our corporate clients that they commissioned Ali to create a collection of eight large artworks to represent the favourite song of each partner in the business.
dot-art is continually looking for talented artists, regardless of career level, to get involved in our many showcases and projects. If you think you and your work would be suitable for any of the types of projects that John, Faith, and Ali have worked on with us, please get in touch – we need your skills!
