A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for LightNight 2018, which this year celebrated the theme of Transformation through art, music and performance.
We invited you all to explore Queen Avenue for a street party of food and drinks from local businesses Cau, Izakaya and Moose Coffee, cocktails from One Fine Day, wine from R&H Fine Wines, vegan nachos from White Wolf and pancakes from The Interesting Eating Company.
We were of course joined by The Havana Sugar Kings and some very special musical guests for a (not so) secret gig in the corner of our 19th century street. Wirral-born band OMD raised Queen Avenue’s metaphorical roof with a raft of zingy culture classics, playing an ear-ringing set to lifelong fans – many of whom had travelled from much further afield than Liverpool to hear their favourite synth pop band.
dot-art artist John Petch designed the album and single artwork for OMD’s 13th studio album ‘The Punishment of Luxury’, and this LightNight we welcomed the evening’s culture crawlers into the gallery for a late night viewing of our current exhibition Metamorphosis: John Petch x OMD, with limited edition album art signed by the band for sale! You can now browse the John Petch x OMD artwork here.
This night could not have happened without the generosity of the Liverpool BID company and Bruntwood.
