Randhir Sadankar
Born in 1970’s Mumbai, Randhir Sadankar grew up watching his uncle paint landscapes and portraits in watercolour. His uncle wished that he would pursue art as a career, but art was not considered as a career option by the rest of his family. So instead Randhir studied to become a radiographer. But he continued to work on his art, as a hobby.
Randhir came to live and work in Liverpool in 2006 and decided to take on some art courses and self study with the support of local artists.
Randhir creates landscape paintings, drawing on inspiration from John Singer Sargent, the impressionist, Claude Monet and contemporary English painter Michael.J. Smith.
When out in nature, Randhir feels the presence of God, and when I see a man-made element in nature I feel a sense of connection with God and feel hope and peace.
This same intensity of connection is applied to his portraiture work, “When I see a photograph of a person, I see the inner person, which is the real one and I strive to depict in my finished work”.
“I want people who see my art to feel a connection to it, to the brighter side of life by appreciating the world around them and feel the sense of hope and peace.”
