Madeleine Pires
Madeleine Pires is a versatile and multi-disciplinary artist. Raised in the north of Scotland, whose wild expanses and rugged beauty nurtured her artistic journey, she went on to do a BA in Fine Art at UWE Bristol.
She travelled extensively while building her art practice, and lived in Portugal for eight years, where she obtained her teaching qualification. She has worked in the Liverpool area since 2018, teaching all sorts of varied art classes that combine all her interests and expertise.
Inspiration comes easily to Madeleine and her resonance with nature and the elements is revealed through her vivid landscapes, mysterious cosmic oil paintings, complex tree and flower paintings and semi-abstract works with sinuous lines.
Madeleine is the artist who created the “Flower Streets murals” in Kirkdale, Liverpool. All her painting and teaching experience and time spent living in various communities prepared her for this community project, which transformed a neglected urban neighbourhood into a more colourful, beautiful and meaningful place.
Madeleine’s purpose in life is to enhance people’s lives with art and enable moments of camaraderie and contemplation through creating art with other people.
