In late 2022, dot-art were asked by long time collaborators Bruntwood, to create a new series of bespoke paintings for the 3rd floor of their flagship Liverpool building, The Plaza. We had already completed the feature artwork for the ground floor, part of the same refurbishment project, and were delighted to extend the work and commission a second artist.
The 3rd floor really is a fantastic space. As Bruntwood themselves say: “Where the 60s meets modern day design, from original exposed beams to lush biophilia, a lounge-come-events-space – complete with piano – and a terrace overlooking St Paul’s Square, we’ve pulled out all the stops…”
So the right art was really important; it needed to feel part of the overall design, rather than an afterthought.
We found the perfect artist for the project, Claire Western, specialising in striking abstract work, and it was an added bonus to give her her first large scale commission. She worked with the interior designers to ensure that the work utilised the exact colour palette of the design scheme, as well as tailoring each original painting to its location and surroundings.
As you can see the results are amazing, with the artwork forming an integral part of the overall interior!
