Nicola McGovern
Nicola McGovern is an Artist and Creative Practitioner based in Liverpool and Donegal. Taking inspiration from the rugged landscape of the Wild Atlantic Way, her paintings explore contrasting colours and textures through flat layers. Her papercut seascapes, landscapes and portraits are made from multiple layers of intricate hand-cut paper and have been published by Liberty London, Apartment Therapy and Brides. She has designed and produced many large scale 3D artworks for outdoor public sculpture trails, including the Ukraine-inspired EuroLearn Pysanka Egg Display, which was developed in partnership with pupils at St. Benedict’s Catholic Primary School for Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool.
Nicola’s participatory arts projects engage workshop participants of all ages and abilities through visual art and digital technologies. Her work celebrates inclusion and diversity and encourages learners to make their own decisions, express their individuality and develop their creativity and self-confidence. She offers bespoke creative learning programmes, one-off art workshops and CPD sessions in partnership with schools, community groups and cultural organisations in Merseyside and Donegal.
