The species of fish known as Diamond fish glide gracefully, their presence adding a touch of silver sparkle to the scene, symbolising the precious moments of happiness found in nature’s embrace. The choice of blue hues captures the mesmerising beauty of the underwater scape and evokes a sense of peace and calmness, embodying the artist’s personal joy and happiness derived from this natural encounter. The warmth of the sunlight penetrating the water symbolises hope and positivity. This piece celebrates nature’s wonders, portraying how joy can be found in the simplicity and beauty of our natural surroundings. Nisali Siriwardene

Nisali Siriwardene is an artist who seamlessly blends her passion for creativity, travel, and storytelling into evocative works of art. As an aspiring architect currently pursuing her master’s degree in architecture at Liverpool John Moores University, she combines her architectural expertise with her artistic endeavours to create work with unique perspective and depth. Graduating with a first-class degree and the Best Overall Performance Award for the BSc Honours in Architecture in 2022, Nisali’s background provides a structured yet imaginative foundation for her art.

Oil paints are Nisali’s primary medium, but she also specializes in other mediums to create bespoke art. Her diverse body of work includes landscapes, abstract paintings, portraits, and more, each showcasing her ability to adapt her techniques to suit the subject and emotion she wishes to convey. This versatility allows her to produce unique pieces tailored to her clients’ visions and her creative inspirations.
Currently, Nisali is an instructor for the Liverpool Watercolour Group, where she shares her passion and expertise with fellow artists. Inspired by landscapes and nature, her art captures a wide range of emotions, from tranquillity to exuberance. Each piece tells a story, drawing viewers into a visual narrative that reflects her love for the natural world. Her ability to weave together colours and forms on canvas creates engaging and captivating works that remind viewers of the beauty and complexity of the world around them.
