Nicola Lowe

Nicola Lowe is a local Liverpool artist.
She graduated from LJMU with a Fine Art degree in 2010 and has been working as a fine artist and community art workshop leader ever since.

Nicola has worked with private, commercial and community organisations all over the North West. Most recently, Nicola was commissioned to create artwork for 3 new wards In Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

“Painting has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I’m inspired by nature in my art and try to capture an aspect of realism in a slightly surreal expressive style.
I’m a vey intuitive painter, I like to work quite fast and loose with acrylics gradually adding more details as I go along.
I will have an initial image in my mind but ultimately the different decisions made though the process will define what the final painting turns out to be.
Sometimes my painting exploration will be a breeze and sometimes it will be a battle; But I try to play with colours, movement and texture as much as I can to convey my perception of my subject.”
