The Liverpool Collection 2025
To end 2025, we are bringing together both well-known and brand-new views of Liverpool. Expect to see their skill and talent of 31 dot-art Artist Members applied to the broad spectrum of inspiration available in the city.
Buildings that form part of the fabric of Liverpool are shown in all their grandeur, or decay. Wildlife that surrounds us every day are delicately and lovingly portrayed. Footballers are immortalised, alongside lobsters, carousel horses and herons.
And of course, expect a sighting of the rarest of local wildlife, the SuperLambanana.
Kevin Pollard, our Liverpool Art Fair 2025 People’s Choice Award winner and previously an award-winning costume designer turns his attention to. Kevin’s paintings are filled with colour, texture and movement, including a joyful portrait of a galloping carousel horse in Albert Dock.
Dave Rayward’s work in this exhibition reimagines a painting by John Atkinson Grimshaw (1836–1893) of the Liverpool Docks into a fascinating contemporary rendition, beaming with the neon allure of the docks we know today.
New member Graham Seaman shares his technique of combining black and white photography with paint to create abstract borders.
Nicola McGovern’s bird portraits depict Liverpool’s most spotted avian inhabitants and are made from multiple layers of intricate hand-cut paper.
Longstanding member Kathy Dereli has looked to streets familiar to us at dot-art for inspiration. Castle Street and Water Street are dreamily recreated in oils. Detail in buildings we often overlook immerge through a warm mist, showcasing her incredible talent with the medium.
We want to enable everyone to enrich their lives through art, whether that is through our Artist Membership, offering affordable original art or bringing art into public and private realms with murals and art rental.
You can help us with this goal by giving the gift of a handmade original piece, and we have vouchers for any budget available to gift for the art lover in your life.
Exhibition continues Friday 5th December to Saturday 8th February
VISIT: Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 – 18:00
Rooted in Joy
An exhibition by Jessica Slack at INNSiDE hotel by Melia.
dot-art and Jessica Slack invite you to join in her mission: To spread joy and positivity across the globe through her art. Her aspiration is to transform everyday lives, inviting people to immerse themselves in the mindful benefits of getting lost in abstract paintings.
Rooted in Joy celebrates the beauty of contrast within nature, bringing together two distinct yet deeply connected abstract expressionist collections by Slack: Rooted and Radical Joy.
Rooted honours the earthy, muted, grounding tones that echo autumnal landscapes, quiet woodlands and the steady rhythm of change. These works capture stillness, belonging and resilience, inviting viewers to feel the calm of being anchored. By contrast, Radical Joy bursts with the vitality of spring and summer with vivid sunrises, radiant sunsets and bold flowers in bloom. These works revel in unapologetic colour and radiance, celebrating joy as both playful and powerful.
Together, the collections reflect the cycles of nature: How stillness gives way to renewal and how quiet roots make way for radiant blossoms. It is a commentary on the power of presence, balance and the ever-changing beauty of the natural world.
Jessica is recognised as an emerging British artist, with honours such as the Signature Art Prize and Bethlehem Card Commission. Her artwork has found its way into the pages of The World of Interiors magazine, and she has had the privilege of creating commissioned pieces that now grace the streets of Liverpool city centre.
