Rachel McArdle
Rachel McArdle is a contemporary painter based in Liverpool. She completed her BA in Fine Art at LJMU in 2014. McArdle works predominately in acrylic and oil.
Her work is held in private collections across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Her recent works explore her relationship to the natural environment. Rachel McArdle is drawn to patterns and colours occurring in nature, watery reflections, atmospheric skies, the play of light and shadows. Paintings vary between representation of a physical space and capturing the atmosphere of a moment through heightened colours and abstraction.
The paintings attempt to capture the often, ethereal or surreal atmosphere and drama found in the natural landscape; The constant state of flux and motion.
