Brush in hand since childhood, artist Kirsten has always had a passion for painting. She originally gained a degree in graphic design, going on to pursue a career in design for over 25 years, whilst continuing to paint. As painting continued to be at the forefront of her creative energy, she decided to concentrate on painting professionally.

Specialising in portraits and abstracts, Kirsten works mainly in acrylics and aims to capture, vibrancy, energy, strength, balance and beauty within the people she paints. Her latest series of portraits ‘Rise of the Divine Feminine’ highlights the rise of feminine energy within us at this time of great change, celebrating the strength of womenkind.

‘We are all spiritual beings of energy and light incarnated on the earth to have a physical experience. We all originate from the same energetic light source. Everything and everyone is comprised of the energy of the universe, the energy of source. Everything and everyone has that universal energy coursing within them. We are all connected by that energy therefore we are all essentially one, we are all equal. Every human life is sacred, every life a gift.

Now is a time more than ever where we must live by universal law, under grace and compassion, brotherly and sisterly unconditional love, and abundance for all. My work seeks to celebrate the lives and cultures of people from all races all over the world and this will be reflected much more as this body of work grows.’

Her abstract series highlights the fragility of the planet and the natural process of decay and change that occurs over time by the forces of nature.

‘No matter what we do nature and the laws of nature will always prevail and find a way to repair, recover, adapt and thrive. For example, shipwrecks creating the perfect have and habitat for fish and new coral reefs to form, and plant life finding its way into derelict buildings, slowly taking over and taking back its rightful place. The natural world has always been one of the most celebrated settings onto which many artists project their beliefs, feelings, and ideas. Art can renew our connection with nature, from the picture that appreciates nature for what it is, to the challenging piece expressing our complex human connection to nature. Art can address environmental issues and topics about conservation, sustainability, preservation, biodiversity, and threatened habitats.’
