Daydreamer is Roslyn Ashcroft’s deception of her own somewhat chaotic mind. Swirls above the subjects head represent racing thoughts and a lack of structure. Roslyn Ashcroft uses drawing as a way of bringing some semblance of order to her mind.
Calling them her ‘Doodles’. The artist puts pen to paper, makes a scribble and responds intuitively to her marks. Captivated by the gold and silver ink, the artist is mindful and present during the process. Her mind is not future or past orientated, it is simply focused on her drawing. And in turn, her mind becomes calmer.
