Rachel Parry was born in Merseyside in 1988, and a Blue Peter badge winner at the age 9…
Parry moved to Somerset to study at Millfield independent school where she received a BTEC in Art & Design. Later moving to London, Parry graduated from London college of fashion & went on to have a successful career designing footwear for the worlds leading high street brands. However feeling a personal disconnect with the constraints of footwear design, lead her to a career which allowed her to explore Art and design in a broader sense in an effort to recapture her creativity.
Now based back in Liverpool, Rachel works from her studio with dot-art. Today Parry’s art is driven by her interest in the natural world & how it aligns with her to create fractals, topographies & sacred geometries often taking form as abstract expressionism.
Using available materials: canvas, wood, paint, recycled plastics & Resin.
Parry aims to create work that captures the movement of life, how the paint reacts to create realistic illusions which replicate mother natures intentions.
Through Parry’s work spectators are led onto the astral plane. There is a spiritual transcendence to Parry’s work where the vibrational phases that emerge are sacrosanct & a healing experience for the viewer. Parry’s self expression shows through her instinctive movement, use of contrasting colours, numbers & recursive geometries.
