Julie Campbell graduated from Chester with a 2:1 BA Fine Art( Hons ). She works from a studio in her garden on the Wirral.
Her love of history, journeys and memories are the inspiration for her artwork. She uses gestural, expressive mark making to convey layers of time throughout her art. After having spent five years exploring mans journeying and the effect upon the land it is the essence of a place and life within it that allows her to create art that is expressive. Using layers to convey a sense of time and movement, areas become obscured whilst other parts are revealed afresh. Her work becomes abstracted through the journey of the painting process and the emotive response to the subject matter. Her feeling is that nothing stands still and history is part of now and influences today. Julie is happy to take commissions through Dot-Art and has recently started to run workshops.
Her artwork has sold locally and internationally. She is a regular artist partaking in the Wirral Open Studio Tour.
