“I have always been a maker; my family and friends always receiving handmade gifts for Christmas and birthdays. It was one of these gifts – a 6ft knight made from an old spiral staircase – which stands in my step-mum’s garden, that sparked my passion for sculpture.”
Working from a shared artistic workspace in Liverpool, Jon enjoys being surrounded by creative and inspirational people.
“I like my art to be made entirely from recycled scrap metal, so bringing new life to old discarded metal objects that get bashed, bent and welded into new shapes to form my unique and hopefully interesting sculptures. I get some amazing pieces given by people, who once they find out what I do, kindly donate all sorts of interesting metal structures for me to craft and rework. I am currently working on a rooster made from an old washing machine!”
Jon has exhibited his work locally, having been the featured artist at Bury art festival and his sold his work internationally including Argentina and the USA.
