Joe Thompson
Art has always been a passion for Joe. From his early days copying his fathers sketches, to his recent large scale works featuring his travel in the Goan region of India – Joe has produced works from all stages of his life and travels, reflecting on his time spent in the Scots guards as a teenager, through his working life in and around Liverpool. His influences include the Impressionists and post Impressionists, listing Monet and Van Gogh as his particular favourites. He also has a great deal of admiration for Bosch and Dali.
Joe is particularly excited by new challenges. He has had pieces of work commissioned by stars of media, sport and a number of private collectors in London. He is currently retained by one of the largest accountancy firms in the world to produce works for members of their senior staff, one of whom said of Joes work:
“I appreciated the time and effort Joe took to understand, develop and produce my painting. I felt he not only met but exceeded my expectations in every way. It was, in the end, a very emotional experience.”
Although he has sculpted, used water colours and ventured into many areas of the arts his first love is working with oils. His versatility is demonstrated by the range of work on display, but he is also happy to work to commission.
