David John Pearson
David John Pearson is an emerging artist making prints from digital photographs and drawings.
Having supported himself as a musician for a decade, he has undergone a creative renewal in his art practice, following a shift away fromthe fields of his study.
The artist uses cameras on a variety of mobile phones to take pictures with a compelling tension between the figurative and the abstract. He then builds upon layer of drawing, applying editing techniques adapted from film photography, painting, linocut and etching, before printing with archival inks onto fine art paper.
The resulting images have a dream-like quality, sites for forms becoming and undone, as though seen on the periphery of vision.
