Catherine Evans Jones

Catherine Evans Jones studied at the University of Manchester, Liverpool John Moores University, University of Chester and Central St.Martins College of Art and Design in London. She was tutored by the modernist painter Allen Barker.

“Catherines illustrations are figurative, with a bold sense of colour and structure. Her expressive female characters exude style, confidence and humour.”

The artist, who has exhibited in Chester, Manchester and Wales, says:

“I am inspired and influenced by fashion illustration, old style glamour, flair, nostalgia, eccentricity, sudden bursts of colour, the telling line, a gesture or gaze and the multitude of mysteries contained within the human face.”
