Alice Lenkiewicz
I was brought up in Plymouth surrounded by art and portraits by my father, the painter, Robert Lenkiewicz. In my early years, I painted images from my imagination, particularly of women in imaginary landscapes and I enjoyed going out to paint the world around me, particularly realist and imaginary landscapes.
I have exhibited and participated in many art and writing projects over the years. I have also curated art exhibitions across the UK with TAG and Infinite Art Space where we exhibited the art of local and international artists.
I currently create digital and textile art, although I do also paint on canvas. I have grown very fond of digital art for its spontaneity and I enjoy the medium. I feel I can create anywhere as I mainly use my phone as a drawing facility. My digital art is printed on paper or fabric. I sometimes incorporate it into my textile art.
My textile art uses recycled fabrics, stitching and sometimes a mixed media approach. I have a spontaneous painting style that ranges from realism to dreamlike imagery and abstract.
