Maggie Hilditch is a painter, craftmaker & art trainer, based in Liverpool. Maggie studied Fine Art at Manchester University and Glasgow School of Art, and Fashion & Textiles at Middlesex University (Cat Hill Arts Campus). She worked briefly as a textile designer before returning to Middlesex University to complete a PGCE in Secondary Art Teaching with Special Needs Education, after which she worked in secondary teaching. Maggie was part of the JC2000 Millennium initiative and ‘cre8.ed’ teams (freelance artists, musicians, actors & dancers) teaching values, citizenship, and religious education through the creative arts.
For many years Maggie has facilitated and led creative workshops in various settings, including schools, churches, theatres, health facilities and retreat centres. In 2011 Maggie completed the Opening Doors Course at Tate Liverpool, gaining a NOCN certificate.
Maggie’s other interests include Health & Wellbeing. From 2008-10 Maggie was Artist-in-Residence at Wotton Lawn Hospital (2gether NHS Foundation Trust) in Gloucestershire. She is currently creating art work for future exhibitions. Alongside this she volunteers as a Chaplaincy Assistant with Merseycare NHS.
