Jessica Keeler is a self taught printmaker who originally studied Theatre Design at Nottingham Trent University. She fell in love with lino cutting after some sculpture experiments which she made and exhibited in the Liverpool Independents Biennial 2008 & 2010.
The precision and risk of messing it all up is one of the things that she loved about lino printing. Having not been formally trained in the techniques, Jessica is freer in her approach, experimenting with fuzzy edges and unusual colour matches.
Jessica creates both one colour prints and reduction prints as an exploration of her interpretations of rhythms and patterns noted from nature and places.
Though each print is one of a limited edition, many are also individually worked on post print exploring another quality like the time of day, light, weather and mood, therefore each print is unique.
