Gail Watson creates landscapes and cityscapes of Liverpool and surrounding areas. She has always lived in the North and likes to document and interpret feelings and thoughts about the area through her art.
Most of Gail’s artwork is created using watercolour and pen. She often draws and paints direct from the subject outside, giving her work a sense of immediacy and allowing dynamic interpretation of subjects.
Gail’s acrylic works take form in her studio space and are often undertaken in a more precise and considered style.
Speaking about her work, Gail said: “I like to express the grittiness and beauty of living in Liverpool through my art – it is important to me to capture the truth of a place, (warts and all). My paintings allow me to express and share a truth and honesty of the places and people I encounter.”
